McLean Trees Foundation subsidizes tree plantings in McLean through our Neighborhood Tree and Tree Champion Programs as well as through Tree Sponsorship. Learn more about each of these initiatives below, and see how many trees we’ve planted together on our Tree Planting Map!

Not quite ready to plant a tree? You can still support MTF’s tree planting efforts by making a donation or volunteering.

trees we plant

We plant trees that are native to Virginia, and we select a species that is most suitable for the site conditions at hand. The trees we plant are not saplings but larger trees with trunks of about one-inch diameter. Browse the species list below and click the “species sheet” button to learn more about each species, or download the full tree list here.
